Joy

Awarded Best Feature Film 2002 by the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame, Joy examines relationships and racism experienced by the African American middle class.

Kevin Matthews has it all-a beautiful fiancee, thriving law practice, loving family, and supportive friends. Possessing a life devoid of the economic and social injustices faced by many, Kevin has become blind to the world around him, until tragedy shatters his idealistic existence. He is forced to come to terms with the fact that no amount of success can shield him from the prejudice that exists in our society. In the end, Kevin's struggle for justice and peace lights his path to joy.
